We first met our original protagonist, Addie, when she worked for “The Boss”. The Boss runs a lucrative campground business, but where Addie strives to work harmoniously with nature and leave no trace, The Boss prefers to be as destructive and harmful as possible. A man who’s sole focus is power and money. Addie, realizing she can’t be a part of this horrible organization, sets off on her own. Her path was filled with adversity, but in the end she beat The Boss and won “Campground Developer of the Year”. This small victory left The Boss feeling humiliated, and that is not something he can forgive.
The Story then follows Addie’s exploration through forgotten lands as she deciphers an ancient map she found at the end of the previous game. This map was a written history of the Endorus people’s journey to find a new homeland after theirs was brought to ruin. During the expedition, Addie meets a colourful cast of new characters, including an eccentric shaman who needs to be rescued from bandits and our favourite archeologist: Tom. Addie and Tom begin to build a friendship as they restore an ancient Endorus village, ravaged by flooding and pollution. Reaching the end of the map, Addie leads her rag-tag band into a cave system where they discover a perfectly preserved ancient city built into a massive hollow on the side of the cliff.
